Learn From Your Neighbor: Loopy Potholder Weaving w/ Celeste!
Saturday, February 21 from 3-5 PM
@ The YES! House | 726 Prentice St, Granite Falls, MN
February's Learn From Your Neighbor will be featuring Celeste, who will be sharing one of her passions with you! Remember those potholders you made at summer camp using a metal or plastic loom with a long hook? Come to this session to relive the simple joy of weaving with cotton loopers!
You can choose to do a traditional under over weave with random colors or try out some more intricate patterns using specific looper colors. You will learn how to weave and finish your potholder! If desired, a wooden ring can be purchased to add for hanging. Looms, loopers, and hooks will be provided to attendees by the instructor. Patterns and a list of supply and pattern resources for future projects, will also be provided.
Looms and loopers will be for sale after the class if attendees wish to take their own one home!
This class is suitable for all ages including children with reasonably good fine motor skills (about age 6-7) all the way up to adults. This would be fun to do with your child, grandchild, niece or nephew, or neighbor's child. Class size limit of 10 (if coming with a child you can share a loom).
